Midwife at Märsta Youth Clinic
In Stockholm County, there are 30 youth clinics operated in collaboration between municipalities and the Stockholm County Healthcare Region, which is responsible for the medical part of the operations.
The overarching mission of the youth clinics is to promote sexual and reproductive health and to prevent and detect mental health issues and social problems among young people aged 12 to 23. We work health-promoting from a holistic perspective.
Märsta Youth Clinic is a smaller clinic where two midwives, two social workers, and two unit managers work in a cross-professional collaboration. We primarily work with individual visits, but an important part of the work is also to conduct outreach activities such as continuous study visits from local schools and to collaborate with other organizations. We are a low-threshold service and always strive for high accessibility. We are open Monday to Friday.
Norm awareness and diversity are important to us; all young people and all employees should feel equally welcome here. As a team, we value our respectful, positive, and solution-oriented work climate. In that spirit, we want to continue. You can read more about us at: Märsta Youth Clinic (https://www.slso.regionstockholm.se/)
SLSO offers:
Within SLSO, there are good opportunities for you as an employee to develop and become really good in your profession. As an employee, you have benefits such as free healthcare, extra compensation during parental leave, the possibility of salary exchange, pension agreements, and insurance.
We offer generous wellness benefits and apply flexible working hours. Read more about our benefits at Benefits at Stockholm County Healthcare Region (https://www.slso.regionstockholm.se/)
About the position:
As a midwife with us, your work will include contraceptive counseling, including insertion/removal of IUDs and implants, as well as STI testing, treatment, contact tracing, and examinations. You will also have conversations with young people about lifestyle, identity, relationships, and sexuality based on the young person's life situation and needs.
The position includes planned visits, drop-in visits, participating in our outreach work, and communicating with young people via video meetings, chat, 1177, and phone. Another important part of the work is to have close collaboration with colleagues and a sense of responsibility for the clinic as a whole.
Qualifications:
Licensed midwife with prescribing rights and eligibility to practice within Swedish healthcare.
Personal qualities:
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in working with young people and young adults within our mission area of sexual and reproductive health. You need to have a good ability to make independent assessments and priorities, but also the ability to create unpretentious and flexible collaborations with colleagues.
We expect you to be solution-oriented and enjoy switching between different working methods and tempos, as well as naturally taking overall responsibility for the clinic together with your colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Employment form:
Permanent position, full-time 100%. Working hours Monday to Friday, including one evening a week until 19:00. Approximately one Saturday every six months at another clinic is included. A probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
Other information:
To prevent the spread of MRSA, the Stockholm County Healthcare Region (SLSO) requires health certificates before new employment and regulates the opportunities for healthcare personnel to wear piercings.
We will continuously review applications and may call for interviews before the application deadline.
Warm welcome with your application! The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Region:
- background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted by occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional licensing, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
